For
2012 we have produced two calendars instead of one! In addition to our
traditional Astronomy calendar, we have produced an Australian Sky
Calendar which is Australia-specific and designed more for the general public
rather than just amateur astronomers. The Astronomy calendar can also be used
in New Zealand and South Africa.
More information on the calendars
The calendars provide a nightly guide to what’s visible in
the sky, including moon phases, planetary positions, eclipses, lunar
occultations, conjunctions and meteor showers. They include a summary of the
year indicating best time to view the planets.
Both
calendars feature Nightly moon phases and Monthly Star maps and are each 23 x
33cm, opening to 46 x33cm. Maps have been designed for 25° to
45°
south latitude.
Other Features:
· Additional
Star Maps show the planets in the pre-dawn and post-sunset sky, especially
showing interesting conjunctions of the planets.
· Details
about the November Total Solar Eclipse visible from Cairns, and the last
transit of Venus for a century.
· Daily reminders
of eclipses, conjunctions, and meteor showers.
