Pendant Magnifier $60 each
The Magnifier is made from the same material used in most
spectacle lenses – an ophthalmic thermoplastic. It has a 4x magnification
and works best at about halfway between you and the object you wish to magnify
– generally with the cord fully extended. The lens is 6.8 x 4.6 cm and the
leather cord is 94 cm. Each Magnifier is hand made and individually tinted.
The Magnifier has an adjustable leather cord and is
available in a range of subtle colour tints.

Pendant Magnifier FAQ:
Are the colours the same as they look on screen?
The colours shown are a guide only - the actual colour of
the lens may be slightly different from how it appears on your computer
monitor. There may also be variations in colour between lenses as each is
individually hand-tinted.
Does the colour tint affect what you see through the lens?
The tint is very subtle and has no affect on what is viewed
through the lens, nor does it alter the optical properties. The tinting is
purely for aesthetic reasons as it adds to the 'gemlike' quality.
What are the dimensions of the Magnifier?
The lens is 6.8 x 4.6 cm and the leather cord is 94 cm. The
box is 9.5 cm x 12.5 cm x 2.2 cm
What is the Pendant Magnifier made from?
Basically the same material used in most spectacle lenses – an ophthalmic thermoplastic called CR-39 Monomer
Is it worn in one eye like a traditional monocle?
No, it's not designed to be used that way. The Monocles
Pendant Magnifier has a 4x magnification and works best at about halfway
between you and the object you wish to magnify – generally with the cord fully extended.
How should I care for my Monocles Pendant Magnifier?
It's best to hang the Pendant from a hook when you take it
off, but if you do lay it down try to face the convex side up. The Magnifier
can be cleaned just as you would a pair of prescription glasses - with a
spectacle lens cleaning liquid and a soft cloth
What if it gets scratched?
Like most spectacle lenses the Magnifier has a
scratch-resistant coating, but because the pendant can sometimes brush against
things - surface scratching is possible. From my own experience minor surface
scratching only appears after a couple of years of daily wear. Minor scratches
can be removed with a product called Pollywatch (or even toothpaste) by
applying a small amount and gently rubbing the surface with a soft cloth.
What if I want to carry it in my bag or purse?
If occasionally you don't want to wear your Pendant
Magnifier but still want it with you it is best wrapped in a soft cloth or
handkerchief. We do plan to make a special carry pouch available in the near
future.
What about the pack, do I just throw it away?
The pack is designed to be sturdy and secure for postal
delivery as well as making an aesthetically pleasing gift presentation. You can
keep it as a memento, but it's not really intended as a storage box for your
Pendant.
